What is the CMA?
The Christian Motorcyclists Association spread to Australia in 1979
when two Sydney Christian Motorcycle Clubs and a number of lone riders met up.
The purpose was to provide an organisation that met not only for social gatherings
and rides, but that would provide spiritual encouragement for Christian Motorcyclists.
Queensland and Victoria were formed in 1989, with South Australia in 1993,
Tasmania in 1995 and Western Australia in 2000.
The aim of CMA Aus (Victoria) is:
- To be a relevant witness to our Lord Jesus Christ,
- To promote Christian motorcycling in Victoria, and
- To encourage and assist Christian motorcyclists in their God-given ministries.
CMA has endeavoured to help Christian motorcyclists from all walks of life
gain more enjoyment out of their motorcycling by organising rides and
activities designed to bring members together so that they may meet people with similar interests.
Also CMA provides training in evangelism and other areas of Christian growth.
CMA activities include
-
National Run
-
Day Rides

In Victoria, we are managed by a committee which is elected for twelve months
by the general membership at the Annual General Meeting. See the committee page
for the current members and contact details.
We are not a one brand group of riders. Our members ride whatever they like or can afford.
We ride Japanese, US, German, British and other European bikes. They range from
125 up to the largest machines available. Our members are interested in what you ride,
and in how you ride because of their enthusiasm for motorcycles. We do not take a partisan
approach. If you ride or own—or just wish you owned—a 'cycle, you are
welcome to join in.
There is a similar attitude towards church affiliation.
The Victorian Chapter has no formal connection with any
particular denomination. This is not seen as really relevant to our faith.
We have the motto of "Unity in Diversity" and are firmly convinced
that we are bound together by far more than separates us.
We have a statement of belief that,
in accordance with the Christian scriptures, is deliberately kept simple
so that all believers can feel free to get involved in CMA. The
statement has nine points and acknowledges God as the creator of all,
and Jesus Christ as the only answer to our spiritual needs. His death
and resurrection are the basis of our faith and we are empowered by the Holy
Spirit. We are Trinitarian and accept the authority of scripture in all
circumstances. We acknowledge, confess and seek divine
forgiveness for our own sinful nature and commit our lives to our Lord
and Saviour and will endeavour to be true to His gospel as shown in the
scriptures.
Within these guidelines, we are free to practise our faith as we each see
fit and proper. Our diversity brings a richness to our fellowship in the context of
our unity in Christ.
