{"id":1797,"date":"2022-12-05T19:50:55","date_gmt":"2022-12-05T08:50:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cmaaus.org\/nsw\/?p=1797"},"modified":"2023-03-01T11:16:44","modified_gmt":"2023-03-01T00:16:44","slug":"presidents-chat-2022-no-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cmaaus.org\/nsw\/presidents-chat-2022-no-1\/","title":{"rendered":"PRESIDENT\u2019S CHAT 2022 &#8211; NO.1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever known a time when there was such widespread uncertainty? People today, are uncertain about their jobs, finances, travel, health and vaccines. They are uncertain about how new laws, mandates and ideologies will change their lives, and society, in general.<\/p>\n<p>Christians are uncertain about how our churches, businesses and Christian schools, will operate in the future. In the middle of all this, there has been a great casting off of God\u2019s standards. Evil is called good, and good is called evil\u00a0\u00a0 ( Isaiah 5:20 ). The current state of society, is causing great concern for many Christians right across our nation.<\/p>\n<p>So how do you and I respond to all of this?<\/p>\n<p>In times of great political change, major cultural transformation and social upheaval we are seeing today, <strong><em>we need to remember that God is in control. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is of great comfort to Christians. God knows his people and he cares for them. History, and God\u2019s word, have shown this to be. God will not leave or forsake us. We can be absolutely certain about this. There is not one square inch of all of creation, which God is not sovereign<strong><em>. He governs ALL THINGS, including<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>governments.<\/em><\/strong> Daniel 2:21 tells us \u2013 He changes times &amp; seasons, deposes kings and sets up kings. The apostle Paul says in Romans 13:1 \u2013 There is no authority, except from God, and those authorities that exist, have been instituted by God.<\/p>\n<p>God can\u2019t be shut out of government. It dosen\u2019t matter whether those in government have no faith, because God is in government. He always has been.<\/p>\n<p>As Christians, we are saints in Christ, striving to become more like Christ. During these times of trial, <strong><em>keep your focus on him.<\/em><\/strong> He will sustain you. You are his chosen people.<\/p>\n<p>Some verses from God\u2019s word to help you, as you strive to be like him, and to be an example to others in this world:-<\/p>\n<p>Romans 1:7, 1 Corinthians 1:1-2, Hebrews 3:1, Colossians 3:12, 1 Peter 1:2<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The following list is to keep you informed of state and local area events that have happened so far, for 2022:-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jan &#8211; Guyra Lamb &amp; Potato Festival \u2013 unfortunately, cancelled due to covid<\/li>\n<li>Mar &#8211; AGM \/ fellowship weekend held at Wagga Wagga<\/li>\n<li>Apr &#8211; Papa Smurf memorial run \u2013 to Walcha &amp; Gostwyk historical church<\/li>\n<li>May &#8211; CMA stand @ Dubbo Bike Rally<\/li>\n<li>Jan to May \u2013 various rides and events organised by area co-ordinators \u2013 the southern areas have been active in events and rides<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Up coming events for 2022:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Possible Coffs Harbour fellowship weekend \u2013 to present donation to Sherwood Cliffs rehabilitation centre<\/li>\n<li>Possible fellowship weekend @ Morrisett to present donation to Salvation Army<\/li>\n<li>Wauchope motor show \u2013 CMA stand &amp; fellowship<\/li>\n<li>Breakfast Torque attendance in Sydney &#8211; contact secretary for details<\/li>\n<li>CMA Australia National Run \u2013 Oct 14 -16 in South Australia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If any members &amp; co-ordinators, have ideas for events and possible church raid weekends in your local areas, please advise the committee, so that planning can be made to hold the event. ( a couple of suggestions have been made, more details to come )<\/p>\n<p>Blessings to you all, as you continue to serve our Lord within CMA NSW\/ACT.
