It’s a great privilege to take on the role of Chairman for CMA NSW/ACT. I have been a Christian and a motorcyclist for about 50 years (!) but only heard about CMA in the mid ‘90s. Since then CMA has taken me all around Australia touring and enjoying Christian fellowship from Goondiwindi to Guyra and Broken Hill to Bourke.
CMA is essentially about two things – being a Christian and being a motorcyclist. For one you need a motorbike. For the other you need Christ. If you’re reading this now you probably have both and I’m sure you realise that they both need maintenance. Our theme as we host the National Run this year is, “Tune Up With Christ” and that is going to dominate our activities for 2026.
A spiritual tune-up with Christ involves aligning your heart with God’s truth through daily prayer, scripture study and quiet reflection. It repairs spiritual weariness caused by discouragement or sin, replacing it with peace, self-control, and the fruit of the Spirit. Daily Bible study, prayer and gathering with other believers are essential
Steps for a Spiritual Tune-Up:
- Tune Your Heart: Actively tune your heart to God’s truth rather than worldly, cultural truths, letting Him adjust your spirit.
- Daily Scripture: Engage deeply with the Bible daily to hear God’s voice and filter out noise.
- Steadfast Prayer: Commit to consistent prayer, which brings transformation and aligns your desires with God’s will.
- Quiet Time: Spend focused, quiet time in God’s presence, allowing Him to work on your character.
- Remove Distractions: Lower the “noise” (fear, opinions, anxiety) to better hear the voice of the Spirit.
Please be sure to check your emails (and Junk Folder) for more President’s Prattles and the monthly National Run Newsletter to keep up to date with what’s going on. 2026 is going to be a busy and exciting year for CMA NSW/ACT.
