Explore the Hunter Valley from your base at the Catalina Resort – you can take off from where the same spot the Catalina’s did in days gone by
With trips to Newcastle or Wollombi on the first day of riding you are all set to take on one of the states most famous set of twisties “The Ten Mile” on Putty Road as you head to a motorcyclists haven, the Grey Gum Cafe before heading back the long way of course.
Itinerary
Day one.
Travel from Ridge Crest to Rathmines, arriving mid-afternoon. Approximately a 6-hour trip. Dinner at Rathmines Bowling Club. Just a short walk from accommodation.
Day two.
Relaxing day with option of two morning organised rides.
- To Newcastle and Fort Scratchley. Walk along Nobbies break wall. Ride around Lake Macquarie. This will be a tricky ride to stay together as a group, due to traffic, street lights & roundabouts. Ride map will be handed out.
- Country ride to Wollombi.
- Otherwise, feel free to explore the area on your own or just enjoy your accommodation and surrounds. Dinner at Wangi Wangi Workers Club.
Day three.
All day ride. Leaving at approximately 8.30 am. Taking in some of the winery region, travelling along the renowned Putty Road, stopping for morning tea/coffee at the Grey Gum Café. Travel through Windsor to Wisemans Ferry for lunch. Return through Mangrove Mountain, Peats Ridge, Kulnura, Yarramalong and Wyee. About 400klm ride. Dinner at one of the local clubs.
Day four.
Farewell and depart.
