Greetings CMA NSW/ACT members,
I trust that this communication finds you well, and that you are all back into your regular routines again. We are now into a new year of serving our Lord within our local churches, personal ministries we have been called to do, and to be involved and support the ministry of CMA that God has called us all into. I personally, am looking forward in sharing with you all, what God has planned for us this year, and to catching up and fellowshipping together on the rides and weekend activities we will be planning throughout the year.
Below, is an article that I feel would be a great way for us all to see in a new CMA ministry involvement year. Please take the time to read, and to prayerfully consider what it has to say. Your thoughts, ideas, comments and constructive criticism are welcome, as always.
THE WAY FORWARD FOR CMA NSW/ACT
These are some suggestions of what we need to be doing to if we want to make CMA into the powerful tool for Christ:
- We elect Jesus as our leader. We commit to prayer over everything, and be willing to do what he asks of us.
- We openly acknowledge that Jesus is our leader, and give him the glory for anything we accomplish.
- We agree to re-commit to Jesus’ leadership as the first official act of the association every year.
- We agree to pray and to seek one main thing Jesus has planned for us each year.
- Let’s talk and pray about turning failures and disappointments, to successes and testimonies.
- Understand that only God is perfect. CMA is not, and we as members, won’t be as well.
- We all make a commitment to stick with CMA, no matter what. Without commitment, we cannot succeed.
- Allow God to lead us in our planning and service to him.
- Pray and seek the will of God.
- Get involved in the local motorcycle community. This is where relationships and friendships are built, which in turn, can lead to witness opportunities and the exposure of CMA to the biker public. Riding with your local Ulysses group is one option.
- “COME RIDE WITH ME” leaflets – a simple means that all CMA members can utilise to invite others to ride with us. It is not a ministry brochure, but an invitation, which includes contact details of your area co-ordinator. A great tool for every member to have in their possession, and to use. If you would like some of these, the committee can have some produced for you.
- Have some “WHAT IS CMA” leaflets available at your local church that you attend, and with you on your rides. Please contact me for copies.
- Promote and organise, with your area co-ordinator, rides with coffee or lunch destinations, and church raids within your local areas.
- Wear your CMA colours / t-shirts etc. whenever you can. This can create interest and ministry opportunities.
- Utilise your area co-ordinator and state leadership for help you may need in organising a project, ride or church raid you may have in mind. That is what we are here for.
BEING PART OF A VIBRANT, ACTIVE CMA, IS A GREAT PLACE TO BE SERVING GOD. YOUR INVOLVEMENT ALLOWS YOU TO SERVE OTHERS AND BUILD RELATIONSHIPS THAT LEAD TO WITNESS OPPORTUNITIES. BESIDES ENJOYING THE FELLOWSHIP AND ENCOURAGEMENT OF OTHER CHRISTIAN BIKERS, ISN’T ALL OF THE ABOVE WHAT CMA IS ALL ABOUT?
CMA MATTERS
- The AGM / fellowship weekend held in Griffith in February, was well attended, and a great time was had by all. Our south west NSW area co-ordinators Barry and Margy Day, hosted a well organised, and enjoyable weekend. Thank you both, for your organisation and commitment!
The new committee that was voted in for 2024 are as follows:
- President Graeme Bingham
- Vice President Dan McGinty
- Secretary / Treasurer Ian Dodd
- Members Rep Grahame Bertram
- Members Rep Terry Beavan
- Members Rep Max Merritt
Area Co-ordinators are:
- Max & Cay Merritt ACT
- Rob (Moses) Martin Hay / Far South West
- David & Donna Sheath Wagga / South West
- Brendan Delaney Illawarra
- Braam & Magda Meyer Shoalhaven
- Cyndie Murphy Sydney
- John Kroon Newcastle / Hunter
- Graeme Bingham Mid North Coast
- Dan McGinty New England
I would take this opportunity to thank the committee and on-going area co-ordinators, for their support and work over the last 12 months. A special welcome to “Moses” who replaces Barry & Margarita Day as the far south west area co-ordinator. As the CMA National Co-ordinators, Barry & Margy felt that they were busy enough in this role, and that it was time to pass the mantle on to someone else. Thanks Moses! The running of CMA NSW/ACT is truly a team effort.
A special thank you also goes out to Cay Merritt, who has taken on the role of CMA NSW/ACT prayer co-ordinator. This is a vital role within CMA, to ensure the continuation of the power of prayer amongst us all. Please contact Cay for all of your prayer needs and requests.
Details of all upcoming events can be found on the CMA NSW/ACT web site, or the face book page, or you can contact myself or the secretary.
Please don’t hesitate to provide the committee with ideas for rides, church raids and events you may have in mind. We need CMA NSW/ACT to be active amongst our communities, and serving our Lord.
Blessings to you all, as you continue to serve our Lord, within CMA NSW/ACT, and in the areas that Christ has called you to. I look forward to catching up with you at an event some time.
Graeme Bingham – CMA NSW/ACT President
