🏍️ Who We Are
The Christian Motorcyclists Association of Australia – South Australia (CMA SA) is a fellowship of Christian motorcyclists united by a love of riding and a desire to follow Jesus Christ.
We are part of a nationwide network of riders who encourage one another in faith, friendship, and service. Our members come from a variety of churches, backgrounds, occupations, and riding styles, reflecting our motto:
“Unity in Diversity”
Whether you ride a cruiser, tourer, sports bike, adventure bike, or simply have an interest in motorcycles and Christian fellowship, you are welcome to connect with us.
❤️ Our Purpose
The purpose of CMA is to encourage Christian motorcyclists to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ.
We achieve this through:
🏍️ Riding together and enjoying the open road
🙏 Encouraging one another in our Christian walk
⛪ Visiting churches and Christian events
🤝 Building friendships and supporting fellow riders
🏕️ Participating in rallies, outreach activities, and motorcycle events
Above all, CMA is about people—sharing life, faith, and fellowship together.
🌏 CMA South Australia Today
CMA SA has members located throughout Adelaide, regional South Australia, and the Northern Territory.
We regularly gather for:
✅ Monthly organised rides
✅ Sunday Night Fellowship gatherings
✅ Peregrine Rally
✅ CMA National Run
✅ Motorcycle and community events throughout the year
These activities provide opportunities to build friendships, encourage one another, and enjoy riding together in a Christ-centred environment.
📖 Our History
The Christian Motorcyclists Association in Australia began in 1979, when representatives from two Christian motorcycle clubs—the Brotherhood and the Disciples—met in Sydney with several independent Christian riders.
Their vision was to create an association that would allow Christian motorcyclists to remain connected in fellowship, regardless of where they lived.
From these beginnings, CMA continued to grow across Australia, eventually establishing branches in every state. CMA South Australia was formed in 1993 and has continued to serve and support Christian riders throughout the region ever since.
In 2000, members at the National Run voted to adopt the name Christian Motorcyclists Association of Australia.
Today, CMA is part of an international ministry that spans many countries around the world, connecting thousands of riders through a shared faith in Christ and a passion for motorcycling.
📸 The Story Behind Our Banner Photo
The banner image featured on our website holds a special place in CMA SA history.
The photograph was taken by Naomi on the back of Wayne’s motorcycle while travelling between Sedan and Angaston on 3 September 2005.

The riders featured in the image include:
🏍️ Leon
🏍️ Steve
🏍️ Glenn
This photograph was later used in the production of the “Riding with Purpose” booklet, which included the Gospel of Mark and was distributed as an outreach resource to motorcyclists. More than 30,000 copies were printed and shared across Australia.
Despite riding in wet weather throughout the day, a collection of memorable photographs was captured, including the image that would later become the basis of the CMA South Australia banner still used today.
Special thanks to Naomi for capturing the photograph and to Leon for incorporating it into the CMA SA banner design.
